However you choose to meet, your consultation is one-to-one and focused entirely on you, your outfit and your occasion.
At the studio
Visit Sarah's Hertfordshire studio for a one-to-one appointment. Bring your outfit along, talk through colours and details, and have your measurements taken for the perfect fit.
On a video call
Wherever you are, meet Sarah virtually to talk through your occasion, colour palette and ideas. Share photos of your outfit and inspiration so your design can begin.

Every consultation is with Sarah Jayne Loreti, the designer and milliner behind SJL Couture. Together you'll talk through your occasion, outfit, colour palette and any details you'd love to include. It helps to bring:

Questions
Can we meet online?
Yes. Consultations take place either in person at Sarah's Hertfordshire studio or virtually, so you can begin your piece wherever you are.
What should I bring?
Inspiration photos, fabric swatches or the outfit itself are all welcome. Anything that helps Sarah understand the look you're hoping for is useful.
What happens after my consultation?
For a bespoke commission, you'll receive a design concept (a sketch or mood board where applicable), suggested materials and trims, a quote and a timeline. A 50% deposit then confirms your design and secures your place in the studio schedule.
Can I make changes once my hat is underway?
Changes are best discussed during the consultation and design stages. Significant alterations once production has begun may incur additional costs or extend the timeline.
Can I hire a hat instead?
